Author-Mom to Tell Melvin Fowler's Story

Lucinda Fowler to speak at library on Wednesday.

Lucinda Fowler will speak Wednesday to tell the story of her son, Melvin T. Fowler, Jr., who became an NFL center.

A former Half Hollow Hills star, Melvin Fowler will also appear at the event at Half Hollow Hills Community Library at 7 p.m. 

Her book, Pee Wee Football to the Pros, recounts the life and career of her son, who played for the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. The publisher says, "Several developmental stages will be shared—from Melvin’s birth as a four-pound, fourteen-ounce, and nineteen-inch baby to a 306-pound and six-foot, three inches tall man-child."

Copies of the book will be given away while supplies last.
