Cars Driven 125 MPH In Melville During Illegal Speed Contest: Police

One of the drivers was caught and cited, police say.

MELVILLE, NY — One of two drivers involved in an illegal speed contest was nabbed Friday night in Melville, Suffolk police said.

Members of the Street Takeover Task Force saw a 2018 Audi S5 traveling westbound on the Long
Island Expressway, near Exit 49, racing against a 2018 BMW at speeds of 125 mph, at 11:50 p.m., police said.

Officers stopped the Audi and cited the driver, Khadim Ndoye, 27, of Queens, in connection with unlawful speed contest, along with other vehicle and traffic infractions, police said.

He is set to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 8. The Audi was impounded.
