Gas Barbecue Causes Deck Fire In Dix Hills
BREAKING: The blaze occurred on Thursday night.
Firefighters put out a deck fire that was caused by a gas barbecue on Thursday night in Dix Hills.
According to fire officials, Dix Hills firefighters responded to the natural gas-fed fire at a Scenic View Court home at 11:05 p.m. Assistant Fire Chiefs Alan Berkowitz and Joe Williamson first arrived and used fire extinguishers to knock down the fire.
It took firefighters 15 minutes to get the blaze under control, containing the damage to the deck with no extension to the home, officials say.

Forty firefighters were on the scene with three trucks, three ambulances, paramedic and first responder units.
No injuries occurred.

The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal is investigating the blaze.
