LI Man Used Mannequin For Passenger In HOV Lane: Police
An officer became suspicious of the driver's "passenger" and stopped him on the Long Island Expressway, police say.
MELVILLE, NY — A man was issued multiple tickets after he used a mannequin for a passenger in the HOV lane of the Long Island Expressway in Melville on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A Highway Patrol officer was traveling on the Long Island Expressway, near exit 50, when he became
suspicious of the front passenger of a 1998 Honda in the HOV lane at approximately 4:40 p.m., police said.
The officer stopped Arisme McGregor, 33, of Bellport, and observed a mannequin in the front passenger seat in an attempt to make it look like there was a passenger in the vehicle, police said.

McGregor was issued summonses for the HOV phony passenger occupancy violations as well as for window tint, police said.
