Major Fire Reported at Melville Apartment Complex
Numerous fire departments on the scene.
MELVILLE, NY – Firefighters are battling a massive blaze at a Melville apartment complex Saturday evening.
The fire was reported at the Avalon Court complex off Republic Road around 6 p.m.
Numerous fire departments are on the scene. Photos from the scene show flames shooting from multiple apartments. It's unclear at this point if anyone has been injured.

"We are well aware of the heavy smoke condition in the area," the Melville Fire Department wrote on its Facebook page. "Please stay clear of this area."
