Melville Shop Owner Arrested After Selling Flavored Vape Products: PD

More than 10,000 flavored vape products were seized after the owner sold one to an undercover cop, police say.

MELVILLE, NY — A vape shop owner was arrested in connection with the sale of flavored vape products in Melville on Friday night, Suffolk police said.

As part of the Suffolk County Police "Operation Smoke Out," officers investigated FMS Vape Shop, at 825 Walt Whitman Road, at 8:22 p.m. Friday, police said. An undercover police officer posing as a customer entered the store and was shown several display cases containing flavored vape products, and the owner, Mohammed Malik, 60, of Huntington Station, sold him one, police said.

Malik was charged with prohibited sale of flavored vape products. More than 10,000 flavor vape products were seized, police said.

Malik was issued a field appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District
Court in Central Islip on May 30.
