Netflix Films For 'Jigsaw' At Long Island Jewelry & Pawn Shop
"The uniqueness of our shop kind of made it stand out from all the other places they were looking at," says store owner Anthony Cutrone.

DIX HILLS, NY — Netflix shot some scenes for its upcoming TV series "Jigsaw" at a Dix Hills business last week.
"Jigsaw," according to IDMB, is "centered around the largest heist ever attempted, the vengeance and betrayals that surround it."
For a show about a heist, it turns out that Gold Coast Jewelry & Pawn was Netflix's ideal shooting site for a few scenes.

“I’m very excited," store owner Anthony Cutrone told Patch. "[Netflix] went to at least 20 different places from New York to out East. They said this one absolutely hands-down fit the bill. It was exactly what they were looking for."
Cutrone said he was approached by Netflix a few months ago when the streaming giant sent a scout to check out the store. He did not hear anything for months. Then, Netflix expressed interest in taking a further look, and the arrangements to shoot some scenes were made.

“The uniqueness of our shop kind of made it stand out from all the other places they were looking at," Cutrone said. "It’s supposed to be a very large heist. They wouldn’t be going to these little dingy places to try to sell very, very expensive items. They would go to more of an upscale place, so we kind of depict that. I think that’s kind of a nice thing that they picked us as versus so many places from Manhattan to Montauk.”

Cutrone said he hopes the store will benefit from the attention cast on it by Netflix, as he said a lot of people don't realize what Gold Coast is truly about.
"When people have a mindset of what a pawn shop is, what they think of is very different from what we are," Cutrone said. "If we can bring any attention to the place, they could see the place and what a help it could be to the community, as well. [People] don’t have to feel ashamed or afraid of walking in; that can be a tremendous thing for the community and us. The more exposure we have, and the more people learn about who we are and what we are, I think that’s a great thing.”
Gold Coast Jewelry & Pawn offers neighbors and local businesses the chance to secure short-term collateral cash loans while also providing upscale fine retail jewelry.
