Public Lands To Hold Melville Store Grand Opening

The outdoor gear and apparel store is hosting a three-day grand opening with giveaways, demos, food, music and more.

MELVILLE, NY — Public Lands, a sports and outdoor gear and apparel store, is set to host a three-day grand opening in Melville starting Friday. The shop is at 870 Walt Whitman Road, Melville.

There are planned giveaways, demos, food, music, and more, according to a spokesperson.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting is slated for 8:45 a.m. Friday. The Vendor Village part of the store's grand opening is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Public Lands will be offering gear giveaways and product demos from brands like YETI, The North Face, Patagonia, NEMO, Carhartt, Big Agnes and more. Live music, local brewery happy hours and tons of swag from Long Island’s newest outdoor hub are all planned.
