Town of Huntington Fire Chiefs Council Awards Scholarships

​Seven students were presented $500 scholarships.

Seven students were presented $500 scholarships at the Town of Huntington Fire Chiefs Council recently presented their annual Scholarship Awards.

Chiefs Council President John McDonough presented the scholarships to the recipients.
Congratulations to:

  • Alyssa Feld of Dix Hills— she is the daughter of Dix Hills Ex-Chief and Commissioner Larry Feld and is attending SUNY Farmingdale State College
  • Alexandria Strievski of East Northport— she is the daughter of East Northport EMT Barbara Strievski and is attending St. Joseph's College
  • Alexandria Boronow of Eaton's Neck— she is the daughter of Eaton's Neck Ex-Chief Paul Boronow and is attending the University of Connecticut
  • Ryan Tschirhart of Eaton's Neck— he is the son of Eaton's Neck firefighter Bill Tschirhart and is attending SUNY University at Albany
  • Douglas Knoph of Centerport— he is the son of Centerport firefighter John Knoph and is attending SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry
  • Molly Cross of Northport— she is the daughter of Northport firefighter Robert Cross and is attending Suffolk Community College
  • Travis Flanagan of East Northport— he is the son of East Northport Assistant Chief Dan Flanagan and is attending Utica College.

  • Dix Hills Chief Terry Farrell and Huntington Manor Chief Peter Nelson. They were both FDNY Rescue Company 4 firefighters who were killed in the line of duty on Sept. 11 2001.
  • Huntington Manor Fire Police Captain and Chaplain Richard Holst and Dix Hills Ex-Captain Walter Hessling. They both died in the line of duty in 2009
  • Huntington Manor Ex-Chief and Commissioner Joe Lynch
  • Town of Huntington Supervisor's assistant Billie Pastore
  • Eaton's Neck Assistant Chief Kevin Brandon

Also, Vincent Pastore, of Huntington Station, received a scholarship from the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs.
