3-Year-Old Girl Falls Out Of 6-Story Harlem Window: NYPD

The child survived the fall on Tuesday and is in stable condition, a police spokesperson told Patch.

HARLEM, NY — A three-year-old girl is in stable condition after falling out of a sixth-floor window in Harlem, a police spokesperson told Patch.

The fall happened Tuesday shortly before noon at a building on West 137th Street, police said.

The child was rushed to a local hospital, where she remains, police added.

There is no criminality expected and the three-old-girl was able to squeeze through the gap in the window between the air condition and the wall, neighbors told CBS News.

"I think she (the child) came down the side of the building because there are ACs coming down the side," Kevin Williams, the building's supervisor, told CBS. "Her body shifted as it was coming down. It didn't come flush down, thank God."
