Armed Robber Shoots Man Unloading Truck In Harlem: Police, Video
Video shows a worker unloading a truck in Harlem being held up at gunpoint by an assailant who eventually shoots him, according to police.
EAST HARLEM, NY — A man unloading a truck in East Harlem was shot by a robber who ran up and tried to steal his necklace at gunpoint, according to police.
The 55-year-old victim was unloading a work truck around 1:30 p.m. Monday on East 129th Street, between Fifth and Madison avenues.
An unknown man ran up, pointed a gun at the victim and tried to grab the chain around his neck, according to police, who also released video of the encounter.

For several seconds, the two men struggled over the chain, which is worth about $8,000, according to police. When the victim tried to escape, the man shot him in the left leg and snatched the chain before fleeing to an unknown location, police said.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The suspect is described as a roughly 30-year-old man with dark complexion, weighing 180 pounds and standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a gray sweat jacket, light blue jeans and white sneakesr.
