Boyfriend Arrested In Murder Of Harlem 16-Year-Old, Police Say

HARLEM, NY — Police have arrested the 18-year-old accused of fatally stabbing his teenage girlfriend inside a Harlem apartment on Sunday, authorities said.

Zyaire Crumbley was taken into custody Monday evening and charged with murder in the death of Saniyah Lawrence, 16, police said.

Crumbley lives in Harlem, just two blocks away from Lawrence's home, according to authorities.

Police accuse Crumbley of attacking Lawrence around 6 p.m. Sunday inside an apartment on Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard between West 135th and 136th streets.

Lawrence was rushed to Harlem Hospital, but could not be saved.
