Commuter Stabbed While Riding The 1 Train, Police Say

HAMILTON HEIGHTS, NY — A commuter was stabbed several times in the head early on Monday morning on a downtown-bound 1 train, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the 1 train was stopped at 145th Street and Broadway around 6:08 a.m. when a 56-year-old man was stabbed several times in the head by the perpetrator.

The victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition, and police have taken a person of interest into custody, authorities said.

The 1 train is still running with delays after the NYPD concluded its investigation at the station, according to the MTA's website.
