Deliveryman Fights Off Robbers In Harlem, Police Say

Two men attempted to ambush a food deliveryman inside a Harlem apartment building, police said.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify two men who attempted to ambush a Chinese food deliveryman in a Harlem apartment building, police said.

The deliveryman was taking a food order to a fourth-floor apartment inside 269 West 113 Street, located between Seventh and Eighth avenues, on Monday night when he was ambushed, police said. When the man arrived at the apartment, the residents told hum that nobody had ordered Chinese food and they refused the delivery, police said.

On his way out of the building, two men stopped him on the stairs, police said. One of the men displayed a handgun and demanded the deliveryman give them money, police said. The deliveryman was able to fight the robbers, forcing them to flee the building, police said.

The deliveryman was not harmed during the attempted stick-up, police said.

The suspects (pictured above) are described as two men in their late teens or 20s, police said. One of the suspects was last seen wearing a blue hooded "bubble" coat, a dark colored sweater and black pants and the other was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur-lined hood, a black hooded sweater and black pants.
