East Harlem Lottery Launches With $856-A-Month Studios

The lottery includes 12 apartments inside 2183 Third Ave. ranging from studios to two bedrooms, city records show.

HARLEM, NY — An affordable housing lottery launched in a newly built East Harlem building this week offering the chance to get a $856-a-month studio in the spot.

The city opened the lottery for the newly built development at 2183 Third Ave. on Tuesday with 12 apartments inside ranging from studios to two-bedroom units, city records show.

Aside from the apartments, the development also includes a laundry room, gym, recreation room and rooftop access, according to the city.

The lottery has four studios available for $856-a-month which a single person making a yearly income between $29,349 to $43,860 can apply for, city records show.

There's also five one-bedroom apartments at $985-a-month available to a person making between $33,772 to $43,860 or two people making between $33,772 to $50,100, according to the lottery.

Three two-bedroom apartments are also up for grabs in the lottery for $1,114-a-month available for two people making between $38,195 to $50,100, three people making $38,195 to $56,340 or four people making $38,195 to $62,580.

Preference in the lottery will be given to residents who already live in the area and city workers with the deadline to apply on June 20, city records show.
