East Harlem's La Marqueta To Host First-Ever Night Market
The weekly night market will be held on Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

EAST HARLEM, NY — East Harlem's newly-renovated $5.5 million event space at La Marqueta will host the neighborhood's first-ever night market this holiday season, neighborhood business groups announced recently.
The Harlem Night Market — organized by Uptown Grand Central, NYC Public Markets, TBo Harlem and Buy Local East Harlem — will draw food and beverage vendors, local artisans and entertainers to La Placita on Saturday Dec. 7, 14 and 21, organizers said. The weekly events will begin at 4 p.m. and end around 10 p.m.
"The newly renovated La Placita space will twinkle with holiday lights, and be packed with the best of Harlem's small businesses selling food, sweets, crafts and gifts -- plus a beer garden and dance floor," the fair's organizers wrote in a press release.

Organizers are still looking for vendors interested in plying their goods during the weekly fair. Businesses can apply to become vendors online. Vendor fees are $100 per event, according to organizers.
La Placitca, the outdoor space at La Marqueta on Park Avenue and East 115th Street, recently reopened after a multi-million dollar renovation project.

The first event held at the new La Placita was a Halloween party for neighborhood children, city officials said. Regular events held at La Placita such as Salsa Saturdays and La Marqueta de Ambulante will return to the space following the renovation. La Placita was first opened to the public in 2014.
