Harlem 99-Cent Store Robbed, Employees Beat Up: Police
A group of seven teenagers attacked two Harlem store employees after they tried to stop them from robbing the business, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A 99-cent store was ransacked and employees were beat up in a recent Harlem robbery, police said Wednesday morning.
Around 11 a.m. on Sunday, seven people walked into the Jackpot 99 Cent and Up store at 108 E. 116th St., police said. The group, who were all described as teenagers, began removing multiple items from the shelves, and then tried to leave the store without paying, police said.
Two store employees, a 45-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man, attempted to stop the group from leaving, and after a brief yelling match, the group began punching and kicking the store employees, before running out of the Harlem business, police said.

The female employee was left with a head injury and a cut to her mouth, while the male employee had a cut over his left eye, police said.
Both people were taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where they were treated and later released, police said.

The unidentified group that robbed the store and attacked the employees are all described as teenagers by police.
The value of the stolen goods is still undetermined.
