Harlem Fire Injures 2 Early Monday Morning: Police
This latest fire marks at least the seventh fire since November in Harlem that has left people injured

HARLEM, NY — A fire in Harlem injured two people early Monday, officials said.
The blaze is at least the seventh fire in Harlem since November to result in injuries.
Officials said the fire sparked about 4 a.m. on the second floor of a four-story brownstone on West 131st Street, near Fifth Avenue.

Two residents were injured and treated at the scene by medics, an FDNY spokesperson said.
Firefighters got the blaze under control by about 4:45 a.m., officials said, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

This latest fire just comes days after two people were injured in a fire inside an emergency city shelter in Harlem on Friday.
Beyond last week, Harlem has seen a series of tragic fires this season.
A week earlier, a four-alarm blaze in Harlem sent two people to the hospital.
Two weeks ago, another Harlem fire left one resident dead — a 27-year-old journalist. Officials now said that fire was caused by an e-bike battery.
Earlier in February, another person was killed and 11 were injured in a fire at a Harlem NYCHA apartment. On the same day, another fire broke out with no injuries.
In January, three people were injured in a fire on East 122nd St., with one of the victims — a sleeping, 23-year-old man — dying soon after from his injuries.
Back in November, two people were killed in a tragic brownstone fire on Malcolm X Boulevard.
