Harlem Man, 34, Shot To Death Wednesday Morning: NYPD

No arrests have been made thus far, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

EAST HARLEM, NY - A 34-year-old man was fatally shot in front of an apartment building in East Harlem Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The New York City Police Department responded to a report of a man shot in front of 206 East 119 Street around 10:03 a.m. Officers found a man, later identified as Akebulon Reeves, of Harlem, with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

Medics transported Reeves to NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Reeves was believed to be the target of a planned hit, PIX11 reported. Two suspects on motorcycles wearing masks are being sought in connection with the shooting, the outlet said.

Witnesses told the New York Daily News they saw a masked shooter open fire at Reeves before fleeing on the back of a scooter. One local resident told the outlet he administered first aid before medics arrived.
