Harlem Man With Alzheimer's Disease Found After Going Missing: NYPD

A 69-year-old Harlem man was found after going missing earlier this summer, police said.

Update, Sept. 1: Gemma has been found and is safe, police said.


HARLEM, NY — A 69-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease was reported missing for the second time, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.

“This has happened in the past,” the spokeswoman told Patch.

John Gemma was last seen Thursday at 150 Williams St. in Lower Manhattan. He was reported missing at 4 p.m., according to a police report.

Gemma, pictured above, is Black and approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall with a thin build. He has brown eyes with white or gray hair in a ponytail, said the report.

He was last seen wearing a khaki jacket, black boots and a blue polo shirt
