Harlem Mom's Death Declared A Homicide, Police Say
A 31-year-old mother was found unconscious in front of a Harlem apartment building and died in the hospital eight days later.

HARLEM, NY — The death of a mother who was found unconscious in front of a Harlem apartment building has been ruled a homicide, city medical examiners and police announced.
Renee Campbell, a 31-year-old Harlem resident, was found lying on the sidewalk in front of a West 127th Street building on Oct. 2 and died in Harlem Hospital eight days later, police said. After an autopsy conducted by the medical examiner, police are now investigating the death as a murder.
NYPD sources told the Daily News that police have responded to domestic violence calls at Campbell's Lenox Avenue home in the past. No arrests have been made in connection with the young mother's death, police said.

Campbell was described in an obituary as: " very strong, smart, witty, caring and lived hard." The Harlem resident, who worked in customer service for Whole Foods, is survived by her two children Bishop and London Rene, according to the obituary.
