Harlem’s African American Day Parade Returns Sunday: What To Know
The 54th annual parade is set for Sunday, Sept. 17 on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. Here's what to know.

HARLEM, NY - The African American Day Parade is set to return to Harlem this weekend - but not before a string of scheduled pre-parade activities.
A warm-up slate of events is scheduled for Saturday at 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard with live performances, giveaways and community resources from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Entertainment is set to include a tribute to hip hop, a dance battle segment and a health panel and Q&A.

An official pre-show is scheduled for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday on 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd.
The pre-show is set to feature Mariama Diop (“The Lion King” on Broadway), Walter Russell III (“MJ The Musical”), Javier Gooden, Julia Robertson, the Uptown Dance Academy and more.

The parade itself, now in its 54th year, is set for 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd (7th Avenue) between 111th and 137th streets.
This year’s 2023 grand marshals are radio host Bevy Smith, Keiko Studios Music Academy owner Ashley Keiko, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture director Joy Bivins and Ruff Ryders Entertainment founder and CEO Joaquin Dean.
