Harlem Teacher Punched Colleague In School, Police Say

A veteran teacher punched another teacher at a Harlem school on Monday, leading to her arrest, according to police.

Veronica Lawyer, 59, was booked on an assault charge after the incident, which happened around 2:45 p.m. at P.S. 129 John H. Finley​ on West 130th Street, between Convent Avenue and St. Nicholas Terrace.

HARLEM, NY — A Harlem public school teacher was arrested Monday amid accusations that she punched another teacher at a neighborhood school, police said.

Veronica Lawyer, 59, was booked on an assault charge after the incident, which happened around 2:45 p.m. at P.S. 129 John H. Finley on West 130th Street, between Convent Avenue and St. Nicholas Terrace.

Lawyer allegedly punched the fellow teacher as part of "an ongoing dispute," an NYPD spokesperson said. No other details were available.
