Harlem's First Pot Shop Opening Near Apollo After Long Fight: Reports

HARLEM, NY — Harlem's first legal pot shop is set to spark up its business across from the iconic Apollo Theater after a long battle, according to reports.

Gotham Buds owners plan to open their West 125th Street dispensary Sept. 5, the New York Post first reported.

The opening, if it actually happens, will follow an unsuccessful legal challenge mounted by 125th Street Business District Management Association, whose leaders argued the shop would be too close to the Apollo and several schools.

But a judge snuffed out that challenge in July. The business also received an exemption from a temporary court-ordered freeze on new dispensaries opening, the Post reported.

Gotham Buds is a luxury clothing retailer that also produces hip-hop and sells cannabis accessories.
