Hit-And-Run Driver Critically Injures Man In Harlem, Police Say
An SUV driver hit a man on Lenox Avenue and West 126th Street and fled the scene.
HARLEM, NY — A man was left fighting for his life after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Harlem late Monday night, police said.
Officers discovered a 57-year-old man lying in the intersection of Lenox Avenue and West 126th Street suffering from injuries throughout his body shortly at about 11:15 p.m., an NYPD spokesperson said. Medics rushed the man to Harlem Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Investigators believe a dark SUV was driving north on Lenox Avenue when it struck the man, failed to stop and continued north on the avenue, an NYPD spokesperson said. The driver has not been identified and the police investigation into the collision is ongoing, the department spokesperson said.

There have been 52 traffic-related injuries recorded at the intersection of Lenox Avenue and West 126th Street since 2009, according to the city's Vision Zero data.
