Man Dies After Police Chase In Riverside Park: Report
Medics rushed the 54-year-old to Mount Sinai Morningside.

HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating after a 54-year-old man died after being chased and tackled by police in Riverside Park, according to a report from the NY Daily News.
According to the NYPD, the man was having difficulty breathing on June 26 at 10:05 p.m. in Riverside Park near West 137th Street.
A law enforcement source told the NY Daily News that the man had died of an apparent heart attack after police officers chased him and tackled him to the ground.

According to the report, the man had been drinking an open container of alcohol and was taken by police before he broke into a run, which led to the chase.
Medics rushed him to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was later pronounced dead by hospital staff, police said.

NYPD's Force Investigation Division, which investigates the department's use of force, is investigating the incident and the man's death.
The man's name is being withheld from the public until family can be properly notified, police said.
