"Peter was kind, funny, strong, and my best friend," his sister said. "He would give his shirt off his back on a winter day if you needed it."
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad, police added.
Correction: A family member refuted information, provided by police, that Mr. Roberts was experiencing homelessness. Patch updated the story on May 30 to reflect this new information.
