Man Hits Officer With Car Door During Harlem Car Stop: Police
The driver of a suspected stolen car swung his car door into an officer during a vehicle stop on Harlem River Drive

HARLEM, NY — A NYPD officer was injured when a stopped driver slammed him with the door of his car, officials said.
At about 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, an NYPD patrol car pulled over a 2017 Toyota Highlander on Harlem River Drive near Exit 24, police said, because it matched the description of a possible stolen vehicle.
As one of the officers approached the driver's side of the Toyota, the door swung open, hitting the officer, according to police.

The driver of the Toyota then fled the scene and the officer was treated for minor injuries, officials said.
