Man Killed In front Of East Harlem Public Housing Tower: Police

The 26-year-old was found suffering a gunshot wound in front of a building in the East River Houses development Thursday morning.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A man was shot and killed Thursday morning in front of an East Harlem public housing building, police said.

Dwight Pitman, 26, was found in front of an apartment tower in the East River Houses development around 2 a.m. suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso, police said. Pitman was rushed to Harlem Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Pitman died of his injuries in the hospital, police said.

The NYPD has not identified any suspects and the investigation into Pitman's death is ongoing, police said.

The East River Houses is a New York City Housing Authority development located east of First Avenue between East 102nd and 105th streets. Pitman was a resident of the East River Houses tower on the corner of First Avenue and East 105th Street, police said.
