Man Killed In Hamilton Heights Hit-And-Run, Police Say

A driver fatally struck a man on Riverside Drive over the weekend before fleeing the scene, according to police.

The man was near the corner of West 147th Street and Riverside Drive shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, when he was struck by the driver of an unidentified vehicle who then fled the scene, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man on Riverside Drive in Hamilton Heights, according to police.

The man was near the corner of West 147th Street and Riverside Drive shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, when he was struck by the driver of an unidentified vehicle who then fled the scene, police said.

Police responding to a 911 call found the man and rushed him to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He had not been identified as of Sunday evening.

Since 2012, five other people have been injured in crashes at the same intersection, including three drivers, one pedestrian and one cyclist, according to city data.
