A man was killed in a crash Wednesday on the Henry Hudson Parkway near 125th Street, police said, snarling traffic just before rush hour.

HARLEM, NY — A man was killed in a crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway in Harlem on Wednesday afternoon, police said, snarling traffic just before rush hour.

The single-vehicle crash near West 125th Street happened shortly before 3 p.m., an NYPD spokesperson said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No details were immediately available about the man's identity or age, whether he had been driving the car, or what caused the crash.

The northbound Henry Hudson Parkway was closed at 125th Street as of 4 p.m. due to the crash, the city said in an alert, urging drivers to take alternate routes.

Traffic cameras showed emergency vehicles clustered around the highway's northbound side just before 5 p.m., as traffic appeared backed up behind the crash site.
