Man Shot On East Harlem Corner, Police Say
The man is expected to survive a gunshot wound to the leg.
EAST HARLEM, NY — A man was shot in the leg while standing on an East Harlem street corner Tuesday night, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The man was approached by an unknown gunman who opened fire shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the intersection of East 105th Street and Third Avenue, police said. An NYPD spokeswoman did not identify the victim, but said he was transported to St. Luke's hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
Police could not provide a description of a suspect. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and the investigation is ongoing, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

Shootings are down slightly this year in the 23rd NYPD Precinct — which spans the southern half of East Harlem from 96th to 115th streets — according to crime statistics reported by the precinct on Feb. 23. Tuesday's shooting was the second to be recorded in the precinct in 2020, compared t0 3 in the same time period last year.
