Man Shot, Killed On East Harlem Street, Police Say

An East Harlem man was fatally shot Sunday on a busy street not far from his own home, according to police.

Elias Castillo, 29, was shot in the abdomen on East 116th Street between Second and Third avenues just after 7:30 p.m., according to police.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A man was fatally shot on a busy East Harlem street Sunday evening, police said early Monday.

Elias Castillo, 29, was shot in the abdomen on East 116th Street between Second and Third avenues just after 7:30 p.m., according to police.

He was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Castillo lived just a few blocks away, on First Avenue near East 118th Street, police said.

There have been no arrests but an investigation is ongoing, police said.
