Man Shot And Killed Within Harlem Apartment: Police

There has not been an arrest after a 40-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday inside of an apartment on West 137th Street, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A man was shot and killed within a Harlem apartment on Tuesday night, police said.

Harlem resident Bryan Cummings, 40, was shot in the chest around 2 a.m. within a first floor apartment on West 137th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Malcolm X Boulevard, police said.

He was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem where he was pronounced dead, police said.

It is unclear what circumstances led to the shooting.

There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing as of Wednesday morning, police said.

The shooting comes less than three days after a 15-year-old was shot just a few blocks away at West 135th Street and Lenox Avenue.
