Man Shot Near Harlem's Marcus Garvey Park, Police Say
Someone approached a man and shot him from behind about two blocks north of Marcus Garvey Park early Thursday, according to police.

HARLEM, NY — A man was shot in the back early Thursday on a Harlem block not far from Marcus Garvey Park, according to police
The 42-year-old man was near the corner of East 126th Street and Fifth Avenue just before 2 a.m. Thursday when someone approached from behind and shot him, police said.
The victim was taken to Mt. Sinai Morningside Hospital in stable condition, police said.

It was unclear whether the man knew the gunman, or whether any dispute had preceded the shooting, an NYPD spokesperson said.
No arrests have been made, but an investigation is ongoing, police said.
