HARLEM, NY – PB Brasserie is now open at 60 West 125th Street, just off Malcolm X Boulevard, owner Elhadji Cisse confirmed.

“Everybody knows me around Harlem, we own three restaurants here,” Cisse said. “PB is our fourth.”

The owner of neighborhood favorites Ponty Bistro, Renaissance Harlem, and Harlem Cafe, Cisse had a different concept for his latest venture.

“The idea is to bring downtown dining uptown, so what people are going downtown for – Balthazar, Pastis – but right here in Harlem, with my African touch, of course,” he explained.

Dry-aged meat and fresh fish star at the brasserie, with a supporting cast including classics like escargot, beef tartare, and French onion soup.

“The menu is amazing, unbelievable,” Cisse said. “It’s totally different from what you see in Harlem.”

A happy hour is 5 to 7 p.m. daily, and PB is open late: from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday to Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

On Saturdays and Sundays, brunch will be served.

The opening is long overdue, and PB Brasserie has been in the works since before the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It has been a three to four-year project,” Cisse said.

“I signed the lease before Covid, and after Covid, everything stopped. Finally, with this upcycle, we're open. It's 4,500 square feet, a very big space – the bar alone can seat 35 people – with a beautiful kitchen."
