Pedestrian Killed By Car Crash In Harlem, Police Say

HARLEM, NY — A 73-year-old pedestrian has died following a car crash in Harlem, New York City Police Department officials said Thursday.

According to the NYPD, the victim, 73-year-old Harlem resident Richard Wigfall, was crossing the street midblock near the intersection at West 135th Street and Broadway at 11:55 p.m. back on May 10, when he was struck by a Toyota SUV traveling eastbound on West 135th Street.

Medics rushed the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, and on May 14, the victim was pronounced dead, police said.

The medical examiner told the NYPD on June 10 that the victim died, police said.

The 52-year-old driver of the SUV remained on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing, police said. No arrests have been made yet, police said.
