Robbers Punch Man In The Face During Harlem Theft, Police Say
A man was pushed to the ground and punched over a backpack on 125th Street and Morningside Avenue.

HARLEM, NY — A man was punched in the face while being robbed on Harlem's busiest street, police said.
A 34-year-old was walking on West 125th Street and Morningside Avenue just after midnight on Tuesday, June 2 when he was approached by a man and a woman who demanded his belongings, police said. After the verbal threat, the male robber pushed the man to the ground and punched him in the face while wrestling away the victim's backpack, police said.
The victim suffered pain and bruising to the face, but refused medical attention at the scene. Police valued the stolen items at about $220.

Police released photos of two suspects Thursday. The alleged robbers fled the scene by entering the subway system, police said.
