HARLEM, NY — A six-week program for Harlem novice entrepreneurs is ending on Thursday with a "Shark Tank"-style competition that will see three locals take home thousands of dollars for their business ideas.

The M&T Bank’s Harlem Multicultural Small Business Lab, in partnership with Carver Federal Savings Bank, has hosted a program for the last month and a half in an effort to empower local entrepreneurs to start businesses in the uptown community.

The program that started with 60 participants is now down to seven finalists, who will present their ideas to judges on Thursday in an effort to secure $7,000 to $16,000 in funding.
