Woman Punches Straphanger On 1 Train Near Columbia University: NYPD
The victim accidentally elbowed the woman, who responded by throwing a purposeful punch, police said.

HARLEM, NY - A woman punched a straphanger who mistakenly elbowed her on a train rolling toward Columbia University, the NYPD said late Tuesday night.
The woman threw her punch at the straphanger, 27, on a northbound 1 train headed toward the 116th Street - Columbia University station about 7:50 p.m. Saturday, police said.
The woman then fled and her victim got off the train at the Columbia University station, police said.

Medics rushed the injured straphanger to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition, police said.
Police released a picture and description of the suspect Tuesday night. She has gauge earrings, a nose piercing and a tattoo on her left arm, police said.
