HARLEM, NY — A pair of thieves scaled a scaffold to break into a Harlem high school and steal hundreds of special student MetroCards, police said.

The burglars climbed a ladder connected to an exterior scaffolding at the AP Randolph High School on West 135 Street during the early morning hours of Friday, Feb. 14, police said. After climbing the ladder, the thieves used the scaffold to reach a window that was left open.

Once inside the school, the robbers stole various school supplies, a set of Bose speakers and a bo of 700 student MetroCards valued at $3,500, an NYPD spokesperson said. The thieves escaped the school with their haul and fled in an unknown direction, police said.
