Vandal Destroys Black History Month Mural In E Harlem, Police Say
A man threw a brick through an East Harlem restaurant window that depicted historically important black Americans.

EAST HARLEM, NY — An East Harlem mural honoring Black History Month was destroyed by a vandal, police said.
An unidentified man threw a brick at the window of a restaurant on First Avenue between East 116th and 117th streets shortly after midnight Monday, causing the window to crack and shatter, police said. The window featured a mural depicting important figures from black history such as Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr., police said.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force will aid in the investigation, police said. Police released a photo of the suspect (seen above) on Wednesday.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing, an NYPD spokesperson said.
