Woman, 32, Found Dead Inside Harlem Building Stairwell: NYPD

HARLEM, NY - A 32-year-old woman was found dead inside an apartment building stairwell in East Harlem Monday morning, authorities said.

The unresponsive woman was found at 112 East 128th St., the address of the privately-owned AK Houses affordable housing complex in East Harlem, police said. It was not immediately clear how long she had been inside the stairwell.

Medics later pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

There were “no visible signs” of trauma to the woman, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

The New York City Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
