Masked Man Groped, Beat Woman In Manhattan Apartment Building, Police Say

The man followed the victim into an apartment building elevator, where he hit her and touched her breasts, police said.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating after a man followed a 31-year-old woman into an East Harlem apartment building, where he attacked her and groped her, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the woman was entering an elevator in an apartment building near Madison Avenue and East 109th Street on July 31 at 2:55 a.m. when a man followed her into the elevator, grabbed her by the pants, and pulled her out of the elevator.

Then, the man began touching the victim's breasts and hit her several times, causing her to fall to the floor, police said.

The man, who was last seen wearing a red hoodie, green pants, black sneakers and a black face mask, ran away in an unknown direction after the attack, and the victim refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
