Woman Raped In East Harlem Attack And Robbery: Police
A woman was chased down by an attacker near East 111th Street and Second Avenue on Monday, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A yet to be identified man attacked, raped and robbed a 21-year-old woman in East Harlem on Monday, police said.
The attack happened about 1:40 a.m., when the man approached the woman near East 111th Street and Second Avenue, police said. He tried to start a conversation with her, which led the woman to run away from the man, police said.
The man chased her down, though, grabbed the woman and raped her, police said.

The attacker also took the woman's bag and cellphone, before fleeing east on 111th Street, police said.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for medical attention, police added.

The man is roughly 20 to 25 years old, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a bedazzled teddy bear design, police said.
