The Harrison Central School District has released the following information in advance of Saturday's home football game against the Rye Garnets.
Dear Harrison Families:
It is our pleasure to invite you to a very special athletic event to be held at McGillicuddy Stadium at Harrison High School.
This coming Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at 1:30 PM is the Harrison Huskies-Rye Garnets football game. Following are details and a few requests we ask of you to help keep this game an event that maintains a tradition of pride in our athletes and our community, and that models cooperation, sportsmanship, and respect of the teams.
The Harrison-Rye varsity football game is hosted by Harrison this year. The game begins at 1:30 p.m. at McGillicuddy Stadium at Harrison High School. Our defending Class A Championship Team is off to a great start. Harrison enters the game with a 3-2 record and Rye enters with a 2-3 record. This always promises to be an exciting game.

Please note the following details and requests:
- Tickets go on sale at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, 10/15, at Harrison High School.
- If you are wearing the black tee-shirt sold by the GO to students throughout Spirit Week, admission is free.
- Ticket price: $5.00 for adults and children over 4 years of age; children under 4 years of age are admitted at no charge.
- Children must be supervised at all times. We are expecting a large crowd and everyone’s cooperation is requested in this matter.
- The Cheerleader Booster Club will be on hand selling Harrison souvenirs and the Band Booster Club will be selling refreshments – NO COOLERS PERMITTED

- The Harrison Central School campus is alcohol, drug and smoke free.
- Parking is limited: handicapped parking will be designated on the gym side of the school. We have also secured the office parking lots at 550 and 600 Mamaroneck Ave. You can park in these lots and walk up Union Ave to the school (.4 miles) or take advantage of the shuttle bus. Harrison Police will be on hand to supervise walkers. Parking will also be available at LMK middle school and shuttle buses will be available from the middle school to the high school. Handicapped vans will be available at both the Mamaroneck and LMK sites.
- Please note: No on street parking will be allowed on the roadways near the high school.
- MSG Varsity will be on hand filming the game.
Reminder (for all athletic events):
- No signs or banners (Section I Policy).
- No coolers (refreshments for sale on site) No open containers allowed.
- No backpacks (all bags are subject to search).
- No horns, noisemakers, etc.
- No dogs.
- No alcohol; no smoking.
- No pick-up ball games on side fields. No footballs allowed on site.
On behalf of the team and of Harrison High School, we encourage you to attend and enjoy the game and to join with us in representing Harrison as a community throughout the activities surrounding this long-standing athletic rivalry.
The Harrison-Rye junior varsity football game takes place at Rye High School at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 15, 2011. Please come out to support our JV football team.
The annual Pep Rally will be held in the Harrison High School large gym at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, followed by the bonfire (weather permitting) on the lower fields.

Parking Information
Option One:
There is limited parking at Harrison High School, spectators are encouraged to use the parking lots at the corner of Union and Mamaroneck Avenue (550 – 600 Mamaroneck Ave. Harrison New York, 10528 – for GPS users). There is ample parking available at this site, and Harrison Police will be on-site to direct you to shuttle buses, or you may walk the brief distance up the hill to the entrance of Harrison High School.
Option Two:
Parking is also available at the Louis M. Klein Middle School, at 50 Union Ave. Harrison 10528. Shuttle bus service will also be provided from this site directly to Harrison High School's McGillicuddy Stadium.
Handicapped Parking: There will be 30 designated handicapped parking spaces at Harrison High School. Handicapped parking will also be available at both off-campus sites and handicapped shuttle bus service will also be provided from both those sites to the game. Harrison Police will permit handicapped individuals access to an accessible entry point for drop-off purposes at HHS should the HHS lot be full. Their cars can then be parked at either off site location.
On-Street Parking: There will be no on-street parking allowed on roadways near the high school.
Safety and Security
The district has worked in partnership with the Harrison Police Department to ensure that you will have a safe and enjoyable experience. There will be ample police presence at the parking areas and on the campus of Harrison High School. We will be provided the presence of the Rye Police Department to support supervision at the game.
Individuals are reminded that Section I prohibits the use of noisemakers at athletic competitions. No smoking is permitted anywhere on school property and this rule will be strictly enforced. Consumption of alcoholic beverages on school property is strictly prohibited and their use/possession will result in arrest and/or fine.
Both high schools are extremely proud of this extraordinarily important and rich athletic rivalry. We ask that you honor the tradition by rooting for your home team and respecting the efforts of your opponent.
