Harrison officials hope the new businesses will draw more corporate clients to Westchester Avenue, where once sprawling business parks have begun to empty over the last few years, significantly eroding the town's tax base.
"Each new business that brings assessment values to the town is welcomed," said Harrison Mayor/Supervisor Joan Walsh, who added that she think the town will benefit from both of the recently approved fitness-related buildings.
"This is a generation that's certainly into physical fitness, this is another avenue to provide that to our residents," she said.
The current site plan calls for a four-lane pool inside the building and 41 parking spaces outside.
