Canter, Gizzo Surprise Leaders in Town Justice Primaries

With 90 percent of Harrison's districts reporting, there are some surprises in the town justice race for the Independence and Conservative Party Lines.

Local Town Justice Candidate Pasquale Gizzo has all but assured himself the local Conservative Party line, while Nelson Cantor continues to hold off incumbents Marc Lust and Ronald Bianchi for the party's second nomination with 90 percent of districts reporting.

Meanwhile, Cantor and Bianchi are leading Lust in the race for the Independence Party's endorsement.

Each party can endorse two candidates for town justice, as of 8 a.m. Wednesday morning 90 percent of Harrison's districts had reported.

Independence Line (Two Endorsements)

  • Canter, 44 votes (44 percent)
  • Bianchi, 34 votes (34 percent)
  • Lust, 23 votes (23 percent)

Conservative Line (Two Endorsements)

  • Gizzi, 41 votes (41 percent)
  • Canter, 27 votes (27 percent)
  • Bianchi, 18 votes (18 percent)
  • Lust, 14 votes (14 percent)
