Delays Continue On New Haven Line After Fatal Pedestrian Accident
A pedestrian died after being hit by a train, MTA police confirm. After an afternoon of cancellations, service delays remain.

HARRISON, NY — Metro-North service on the New Haven Line has been impacted by a tragedy on the tracks at the Harrison station.
The victim was struck by Metro-North Train 1559 at Harrison Station at 1:19 p.m., according to an MTA spokesperson.
According to the MTA, delays continue after a pedestrian was hit by a train earlier this afternoon. The MTA has confirmed that the victim was declared dead at the scene.

MTA police remain on the scene, handling the investigation.
The 11:46am train from New Haven to Grand Central bound train was canceled following the accident. Passengers were instead directed to transfer to the 1:06 p.m. train at Stamford to continue to Grand Central.

As of 2:37 p.m., trains on the New Haven Line continue to be delayed by roughly 15 minutes in both directions.
