Experience vs. Potential Highlights Clerk Race
Harrison's town clerk candidates shared their ideas with voters at Tuesday's League of Women Voters debate.

Pinning leadership and business skills against computer knowledge and tech-savvy, Harrison's town clerk candidates shared different visions for the future of the clerk's office at the League of Women Voters debate Tuesday.
Frank Corvino (D) and Jackie Greer (R) each offered ways they hope to improve the town clerk's office if elected in November.
According to Corvino, who is making his first run at public office, Harrison needs a town clerk with technical and computer experience who will bring the office up to date with new technologies. Corvino said he plans to streamline the way the office communicates and shares information with the community by offering evening office hours, making changes to the town's website and putting more information online.

"My energy, enthusiasm and ease with new technologies are well-suited for the daily duties of town clerk," Corvino said.
Greer countered that her work and leadership experience will bring stability to the office, sharing her previous work as an assistant with companies like Coca-Cola and Alamo Rent-a-Car.

"I am not just telling you what I can do, I am the only candidate who can tell you what I have already done," Greer said.
Greer's three-point plan for the office includes the continued use of new technology, an evaluation of that technology to create cost-effective savings and a resident feedback system.
Corvino countered that his work with special needs adults and children shows his maturity and leadership skills.
"The energy, patience and maturity required for this position, I feel, will serve me well in the office of town clerk," he said.
Voters will select one of the two candidates to fill the town clerk's office on Election Day.
